Most companies provide long-term warranties for key components such as batteries, providing no less than 8 years or 120,000 kilometers of warranty. Of course, maintenance during the cycle does not cost money. Some manufacturers provide a warranty period longer than this, such as BYD, which has a lifetime warranty on batteries. Battery replacement after warranty does not actually require replacement of the entire battery, as long as the corresponding one or several faulty batteries are replaced.

Is the official battery life trustworthy?

To be honest, don’t really expect that number to be very accurate. Just like fuel consumption, it is not a target but a number, and it is a number when you drive it yourself.
